Breading products: benefit or harm?

Many housewives believe that breading, if indicated in the recipe, is not an obligatory step in preparing a dish and is often ignored. After all, in fact, this is the process of rolling semi-finished products from meat, fish, vegetables or mushrooms before cooking in dry small crumbs, most often in breadcrumbs to form the shape of the product.

 

What are breadings

What is breading? I must say that this is not only a ruddy crust of the finished dish. Properly cooked, it keeps the shape of the product, gives it additional flavor, and also helps to retain juiciness by protecting it from moisture loss during cooking.

Most often, breadcrumbs (dried and crushed bread) are used for this, but there are many more types of breading products.

 

To do this, you can use oatmeal, rice or rye flakes, semolina, whole grain millstone or peeled flour (coarse grinding), durum wheat flour, ground nuts, sesame seeds, a mixture of herbs and spices, and even grated cheese.

But ground nuts go well with meat and will add brightness to the taste of the finished dish and add nutritional value to it.

There are even liquid types, for example, from flour and eggs (batter), which, during cooking, become tender and soft, like the dish itself.

 

Diet breading

The main reason why some housewives avoid breading products is that the dishes become more high-calorie. Of course, if it is bread or nuts, then indeed, the nutritional value of ready meals increases. But there are also useful breading products that improve the quality of dishes, making them more valuable for health.

Dietary methods include rolling in whole grain flour coarse grinding (millstone or peeled). It contains 24 times more fiber and 4 times more vitamins and minerals than regular flour or breadcrumbs. Thus, if you decide to bread meat or fish in just such flour, then you will not only get healthy protein, but also help your body digest it, since the fiber contained in whole grain flour, improves digestion.

 

But syrniki breaded with oatmeal, if they are still cooked without sugar, is a real children's dish. They will not only help start the work of the intestines and provide the muscles with nutrients, but will also become the necessary energy reserve for the body for several hours, since oatmeal is slow carbohydrates.
